Communication on Haulage Exchange

What makes a successful haulier? The answer is simple: the ability to communicate at all stages of a job, and the flexibility to adapt to changes in various circumstances. Here are our tips of how and what to communicate:

1. If you are sub-contracting for another haulage company, always remember, you are working on behalf of that company. Companies will expect regular updates, especially when the load is collected and delivered.

2. Any additional charges must be discussed and agreed prior to the job being completed.

3. If you have any questions, call the person who booked the job immediately.

4. Make sure that language barriers do not compromise the success of your business.

5. Let members know when the goods are on board/delivered. You can do by using the Your Booking feature on the Mobile App.

6. Most importantly, if there is a problem such as a breakdown or delay let the person who booked the job know right away.

7. Do not communicate your own business details or any issues related to the job with the customer unless instructed by the other member.
