Freight First is ready to rise to any challenge

Freight First was founded in 2000 by Simon Meredith who remains the Managing Director of the Company to this date. The company was originally located in Frodsham and employed two members of staff, both of whom remain with the company today.

The company has grown significantly since and today employs 35 members of staff. To accommodate the increased number   of staff and their fast growing fleet of vehicles, Freight First recently moved to larger premises in Preston Brook.

“Haulage Exchange has played in instrumental role in the growth of the company and has led to an impressive turnover increase” explains Aeden McGuffie, Freight First’s Traffic Sales Co-ordinator.

“We use the Exchange on a daily basis for posting load and quoting on jobs and would definitely see a reduction in our daily work if the network wasn’t available to us.

The company operates within the haulage industry and specialise in loads that are in one way or another peculiar. This may be due to the size/shape or the content of the load i.e. hazardous items or the delivery times may be strict.

The Freight First fleet recently delivered marquees and temporary buildings to the London Marathon. Due to the nature of the event, the buildings had to be removed quickly and efficiently, which required the team to drive trucks down The Mall on a Sunday, dismantling and collecting the marquees; a challenge many other haulage company would not rise to.

The company made a number of deliveries to prestigious events in recent weeks including:

  • Staging to Glastonbury Festival
  • Download and Parklife Festivals
  • Liverpool and London Marathons
  • Promotional materials to Amnesia Nightclub, Ibiza
  • Catering equipment to Claridges, London
  • Gym equipment to St Andrew’s Golf Course for a Premier League football club
